Safe standing / rail seating
I see Man Utd are applying to have safe standing areas at Old Trafford according to the bbc.
Spurs and Wolves are also moving towards that.

What are we doing?
Fuck all I presume.
If you took out the first few rows of seating at the Athletics bowl you could install this all the way around the pitch up to the advertising signs that are about 10m or more from the current seats

Re: Safe standing / rail seating
to make rail seating work you need a steep rake. the biggest advantage for atmosphere is that the tiers can be half as deep, making the rake twice as steep.

the rake at our shithole is already the shallowest in the league, spaced out as much as possible to make up for the terrible design and we're still a mile from the pitch.

David Gold has been a big advocate of this and has said he wants it. Why wouldn't you believe him?
